Lesson 7: IT FOR HIGHER THINKING SKILLS AND CREATIVITY

SUMMARY:

In the traditional information absorption model of teaching, the teacher organizes and presents information to student- learners. He may use a variety of teaching resources to support the lesson. The presentation is followed by discussion and the giving of assignment. Today, students are expected to be not only cognitive but also flexible, analytic and creative.

REFLECTION:

Students nowadays are expected to be creative with higher - order thinking skills and flexible in different learning situations. There are methods that propose the use of computer - based technology to support creativity and higher - order thinking skills. In the modern classroom, teachers can't easily get the attention of students when teaching lessons using traditional methods. Learners today are into technology and fond of exploring, so the teacher needs to incorporate technology during instruction to get the appeal and attention of the students, for them to enjoy the lesson and participate in class.
